Catfish And The Bottlemen

I've been insanely hooked onto this band called "Catfish And The Bottlemen", that I've discovered lately. They are a British quartet , with Van McCann on the lead vocals and guitar , Johnny Bond on guitar, Benji Blakeway on bass and Bob Hall on drums.

The first thing that caught my attention was the name of the band, "Catfish And The Bottlemen", which sounds quite vague. So I decided to do some research (a.k.a watching a lot of band interviews on Youtube). And in many interviews Van McCann was asked the same question :

What's with the name Catfish And The Bottlemen?

As a kid, Van spent his first two years in Australia, travelling with his mum and dad, and his first memory of music was sitting outside this cafe watching this busker perform, who had these washing lines with beer bottles hung on it, named 'Catfish And The Bottlemen' , and Van thought the name would be apt for the band.

Catfish And The Bottlemen have released their album titled " The Balcony ", last September, comprising of  11 songs.
1) Homesick
2) Kathleen
3) Cocoon
4) Fallout
5) Pacifier
6) Hourglass
7) Business
8) 26
9) Rango
10) Sidewinder
11) Tyrants

(Fallout, Kathleen, Pacifier and Cocoon are my personal favourites)

I also loved the illustration for the album cover. It's quite simple yet artistic.
In one of the interviews, Van said that it was done by an artist from New York, thus making it more American than British.

And I absolutely love their cover of " Read My Mind". The Ignition part at the end, is the best.

I hope you check this band out, and fall in love with their music.
