// ROBBERS //

There are two songs that are very dear to me, "Robbers" by The 1975 and "Broken" by Jake Bugg. I truly can never dislike these songs ,even though its been on loop for more than a 100 times.
Well in this post, I am going to interpret //ROBBERS// . Although the music video looks like a Burglary-Gone-Wrong,well there's a lot to understand about the lyrics at the cellular level.

She had a face straight outta magazine.
The girl he's in love with is said to be beautiful, just like those pretty looking models, you find in any posh magazines.

God only knows but you'll never leave her.
You try your best, but she's a drug, you can never get enough of her love. One just gravitates towards her. It's hard to leave her.

Her balaclava is starting to chafe.
I believe her patience and kindness towards her lover is starting to wear off. Maybe she is tired of his antiques and habits and wants to end their relationship.

And when she get's his gun he's begging "Babe stay, stay, stay, stay"
And when she gives her last word, he is begging her not to leave him. Gun signifying his vulnerable heart. His life, his insecurities,his love everything is in her hands, and if she leaves him, he will be totally devastated.

I'll give you one more time
We'll give you one more fight
Said one more line
Will I know
He wants her back in his life back again. He is trying to appease their relationship, through fights and drugs [ one more line referring to snorting coke ].

Now if you never shoot you'll never know
And if you never eat, you'll never grow
At this point, he's done with her games. With her playing with his feelings , with her threats. So here he tells her if you do not go for it now, you will never know how it feels like to be without me.
He is now challenging her to leave him, and feel the misery and pain that accompanies it.

You've got a pretty kinda dirty face
 Although she has a pretty face, it's difficult to comprehend what's going on in her mind. She is very intricate to decipher.

And when she's leaving your home, she's begging " Babe stay, stay, stay, stay"
This very line says that SHE is leaving his home and SHE is begging him to stay. He has made his decision and now she is the one begging for him to come back.

Be a riot, will I know
Now SHE is the one who wants to mend their broken relationship. SHE is trying to make up to him.And if that doesn't work, SHE'll throw her tantrums, go berserk just like a mob does when there's a riot.

Well now that you've got your gun
It's much harder the police have come

SHE says that although he's got his heart back and moving on in life, she cannot face it. She finds it tough to move on.

Now I'll shoot him, if that's what you ask

SHE still cannot get over him. And want's another chance, but he is determined about his decision.

But if you just take off your mask 

You find out everythings going wrong

He tells her, that if she keeps being an insensitive person, playing with other's emotions, nothing will work in her favor. He wants her to be who she truly is and love her man with all her heart and soul.

Now everybody's dead
And they're driving past my old school
Everything is over. Yesterday was just another day. Their past is history and the aftermath of these events has only left them with bittersweet memories that they can cherish.

He's got his gun, he's got his suit on
He's got his head straight this time, he's got his game on. It's altogether a new beginning for him.
There's no looking back this time.

She says "Babe you look so cool, you look so cool , you look so cool, so cool, cool, cool cool.

She is waiting for him. Although SHE knows he's long gone and will never return back. It's clever how she played with his sensitive emotions and now wants him back. She was his weakness, and now he is hers.
